A Day at the Arboretum

So, we finally made it to the Dallas Arboretum to check out the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden and boy are we glad we did! We had a fun play date with two of our friends and decided to head to the Arboretum to play in the water (and shade).

My husband and I LOVE the Arboretum for the flowers, Cool Thursdays Concerts, and just to have a picnic of wine and cheese. However, we haven’t been since the Children’s Garden opened and so I was pumped to finally see it. I knew it would be awesome, but I TOTALLY fell in love with it. There is an area in the Children’s Garden called “First Adventure” that is just for infants and toddlers younger than preschool age. The area is fenced in with a guard (volunteer) at the entrance, and it is a child’s outdoor heaven. There are multiple water areas, a sand box area, little tables and figures to play on, and there is a ton of shade.

We spent the entire time in one of the water areas where we could crawl/walk in the shallow “river,” we splashed in the water fountains, and played with the toy flowers that floated down the river. I wish I had more photos to share, but all of my camera photos got deleted, so I only have the photos I took with my phone. You can click here to see more photos from their website.

If you live in the Dallas area, I HIGHLY recommend checking this out with your little one(s)!!! It is such a great place to learn & explore while staying in the shade & safety of the garden.
