My husband and I recently had the privilege of shooting a blog post at Glass Optical and were instantly wowed. Nestled in between Joy Macarons and Spinster Records, this place has been created quite a buzz around town. Stephen and Paul Wilkes – a father son duo, recently opened this upscale eyewear and sunwear shop in Oak Cliff. Stephen and Paul strive to eliminate the mundane eyewear experience by bringing their customers a new experience. Glass Optical is a one-stop-shop – you see your eye doctor, Stephen Wilkes, and then head out to the main lobby to choose glasses from a variety of independent labels.
From the studio design to the innovative concept to the neon Great Gatsby quote on the wall, there is not one reason you should not check this place out. Paul Wilkes’ wife, Megan, (the co-owner of Emporium Pies in Oak Cliff) designed the space for Glass Optical, which exudes style, elegance, and modern chic all at once. So, I emplore you to check out this space the next time you need new glasses, for your next eye exam, or on your way to grab some macarons next door!
