Neutral Cape Coat

Happy hump day!!! A couple of years back I bought a cape coat in a beautiful cobalt blue color. I’m pretty sure it was trendy at the time (the color that is), but I found myself wearing it over and over again, year after year. So, this year, I was determined to find one in a more neutral color because let’s be honest, people notice if you are wearing bright blue.

Being 5’2″ has made it a little challenging to find a cape coat that didn’t swallow my figure and make me look like I was wearing an umbrella. I found this one a couple of weeks back though and loved how it fit. It’s structured enough to keep the cape cut, but soft enough to allow you to move as you please. I think the length is just right and the dark brown clasp is such a fun detail.

Having a cape in a neutral color also gives me the freedom to layer as I please. Today I layered a lace bodysuit underneath, but I think it would look cute layered over a striped long sleeve tee or layered over a black long sleeve dress. What do you think?

Giving Thanks – if you’ve been reading all of my posts this November, then you probably remember my post on November 1st where I stated I would say what I was thankful for each day of November. Well, friends, I have not been keeping up with that for no other reason than the fact that life got crazy and I just completely forgot.
