Unit Skin Studio: Before & After Micropen Pictures

Good morning! I’m so excited to finally share this post with you all. So many of you have reached out to me asking if I’ve seen results from micropen and if I would recommend this treatment. If you recall, I had my first micropen session with Unit Skin Studio in January.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m now in my 30s or because I’ve never really cared for my skin previously, but I am determined to treat my skin with care going forward. Of course there are easy changes I can make to my daily routine like consistently wearing night cream, wearing sunscreen during the day, and wearing a hat when I’m running outdoors. But, there are some things that topical creams just can’t treat, and dark spots are one of those for me. I mean when you can see your dark spots through your make-up, you know it’s bad.

Having melasma, my dark spots get worse after hormonal events such as pregnancy or being in the sun. I tried multiple creams from several high end product lines to help reduce and eliminate my dark spots, but nothing seemed to work. After consulting with Unit Skin Studio however, I realized that I needed something a little more intensive. Micropen treatments seemed like the best option for my skin – it’s a natural treatment that simply uses a small micro-needling device to stimulate collagen production in my face to improve the appearance of my skin.

I was informed that the best results are seen after 2-6 treatments and the very best results are seen when you pair your treatments with a night serum that helps to lighten your dark spots. I am currently using the lightening serum in addition to my treatments, and plan to do at least 3 treatments. It’s worth it.

I took a “before” picture just before my first session and will be taking pictures after each of my consecutive treatments. To be honest, I didn’t think I would see any results from my first treatment to my second, but I was pleasantly surprised that my dark spots had already started to lighten significantly. My dark spots are still visible, but after just one treatment they are already looking lighter. I truly can’t wait to see what they will look like after my third treatment. So, take a look at my session 1 and 2 pictures and judge for yourself.

(apologies for the difference in lighting on this one – this was taken the morning of my second treatment; oh, and please ignore my awkward “serious” face…I’m just not good at it, haha)

I think one of my very favorite things about Unit Skin Studio, apart from the skincare, is the design and decor of the studio. Every single piece of furniture, artwork, and fixture was hand-picked to bring you the most aesthetically pleasing experience.

As you walk into the lobby of the studio you enter a white room with clean architectural lines, wood accents, and soothing colors. Then, each room has a theme based on the piece of art that is in the room. For example, one room has a beach piece in it entitled “Palm Springs,” and so the room is labeled “Palm Springs.” All of the artwork was done by photographer, Slim Aarons.

If you’re interested in the rest of the pieces in the studio can be found here:
