Happy hump day, loves! I hope you're all having a great week so far! Our week has been pretty quiet, which we fully welcome knowing this weekend will be full of fun events. I used to have a real hard time accepting slower weeks, but since we've had kids, we've tried to be super intentional about not planning a social event on each night of the week. It took a little getting used to, but we much prefer to pour into our girls individually during the week without lugging them all over the place.
Anyway, back to today's spring look! Lately, I've found myself shopping at Banana Republic more and more. I love that their clothing can often be worn casually or can be easily dressed up. I'm sure you're getting tired of me harping on buying pieces that can be worn more than once, but why wouldn't you want to get the most out of what you spend?
Investing in a white, neutral, or black spaghetti strap or sleeveless top is almost essential for your summer wardrobe. And, if you can find one in a nicer fabric like this chiffon top or one with a subtle pattern like this one, then your top can either stand alone or be used as your bottom layer.
For example, in today's post I was going for an easy feminine street style, so I paired this chiffon top with jeans and pumps. If I wanted a more relaxed look, I could pair it with distressed denim shorts and gladiator sandals. Or, I could dress it up for work by paring it with a lace pencil skirt and even a blazer if necessary. See where I'm going with this? Buying some basic pieces to use as starting blocks in your wardrobe will end up saving you money in the end and will be easy to adapt to your personal style.
