Okay, this post makes me smile almost instantly. Yes, I do love this dress enough to make me smile because there are awesome qualities about it – it’s soft sweater material makes it easy to wear, the all white look makes it fun to style in different ways with colorful accessories, and the thickness of the material makes it a great transitional dress as we shift from cooler temps to warmer weather. But, the real reason this post makes me smile is because of what my husband calls this dress…
Let me give you a little background on the hubs first – one of Travis’s greatest qualities is the ease at which he affirms me verbally. Trav doesn’t just give blanket compliments like “you look pretty,” but always gives specific compliments like “I like the way that fabric works with your shoes” or “I like that style of dress…what’s it called? It suits you well.” It’s kind of cute, and he must have gotten it from his mother because all her boys compliment this way. I digress…
So, on Easter Sunday I decided to wear this dress because the weather was a little chillier than I had anticipated. I slipped this on and paired it with some powder blue slingback shoes, and was ready to strut my stuff. Trav hadn’t seen me in this dress yet so I was anxious to hear what he would say about it because the mixed media fabric is a little different. And here is what Trav had to say…
We’re walking into church and he goes “you know what, this dress is like the mullet of Spring dresses. Business in the front and party in the back.” I mean really? Haha. We both laughed because it is kind of true, but I will forever think I’m wearing a mullet now when I wear this dress.
All this to say, it really is a great dress and would look adorable with a jean jacket layered over it if you’re still experiencing colder weather! And I do hope you get better compliments when you wear this dress (wink wink).
Thanks for reading!!
note: Trav wanted me to be sure and let the masses know that he does think this dress looks good, ha.
