casual blue

Okay, don’t get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE dressing girly. I love a good skirt, a flirty dress, and sassy shoes. But…sometimes I like to just throw on a pair of pants, a loose shirt, and some comfortable shoes. I tend to gravitate toward outfits like these on the days that Emma Grace and I are out and about exploring the city and running errands.

I wanted to use today’s post to demonstrate how easy it is to stay on trend while dressing for comfort and practicality. Instead of grabbing your go-to pair of jeans (this is def. not a bad thing), go for a colored pant. Today I chose cobalt blue pants, which happens to be a big color for fall. I paired it with a neutral, flowy top to keep the outfit from being too busy and keep it comfortable. Since the shirt is an oversized shirt, doing things like choosing a high-low cut and pairing it with a heel adds length and keeps shorties like me (5’2″) from looking squatty. If you’re on the taller side, you could easily pair a loose fitting top with flat booties or flats.
