My Little Secret to Beautifully Styled Second Day Hair

Happy Saturday, loves! By the time you read this I will be hitting the ground running – I have some early errands to run, a patient to see, a baby shower to help throw for a sweet friend, and then hopefully painting our office. I say this from time to time because it’s true – I wish you could see my face as I’m writing this post because I’m smiling and chuckling just thinking of what my husband would say about this post.

If you don’t already know, there is something you need to know about me – I only wash my hair every 3-4 days. That’s right and honestly, that may be gross to some of you, but if I don’t have a function or event to attend, I try to give my hair a break. My husband thinks I’m so nasty because I don’t wash my hair every day (even when I work out), but I don’t sweat very much and washing your hair just takes so much effort.

So what does this 3-4 day period look like? Well, typically I wash, dry and style my hair on the first day, then pull my hair in a pony the next, and then add a little baby powder the 3rd day and put my hair in another ponytail. Well, I was recently introduced to Briogeo’s Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo and decided to give it a try because it boasted of keeping your scalp from being oily, not stripping your hair of essential oils, and providing essential nutrients to help support healthy hair growth. All of those things have proved to be true, but what I didn’t expect was that it has made my second day hair a completely different ballgame! It has actually helped my hair so much, given it the texture it needs, and put my hair in a place where it can be curled and worn down on day 2!

So how do I use it? It’s so easy! First, I wake up and brush through my hair. Then you take the Briogeo’s Dry Shampoo and shake it well. After shaking it you squeeze the bottle and aim the dry shampoo at your roots. You then wait 2 minutes (this part will freak you out because it comes out really white), and then you brush it in your use your fingers to smooth it in. It looks like it won’t blend it, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how well it blends in.

Once my dry shampoo has been blended in, I restyle my hair like I do on day one. I’m not going to lie that I actually like my day 2 hair better than day 1 because the dry shampoo seems to give it a bit more volume and texture.
