Happy Thursday, friends!!! Today is going to be a heck of a post; we've got a lot to cover! We've got 2 main things we're going to chat about today - the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale and this amazing top that can be styled two ways. So, let's dig in!
First things first, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale just kicked off and it's going through June 4th. Almost everything is 40% off, which means you need to act fast because things will be flying off the shelf. Y'all know I'm a big sale shopper, and this is one of my favorite sales to shop. It's such a good way to get stocked up on trendy items for the season, some year-round staples, and a chance to get those designer items at a discounted price you may never see again. I didn't want to overwhelm today's already jam-packed post, so all my favorite items from the sale from women to men to home to accessories are under the "shop" section of my blog. All you have to do is go to the homepage and click on "shop" on the top of the page to see my favorites! I'll be updating it frequently so check back every now and again.
Now, let's talk wrap tops. I got this amazing linen top a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to share it with y'all! Sadly, it's already selling out of certain sizes so if you scroll to the bottom of this post you'll find a super similar one - the one I actually almost bought instead.
Anyway, I used to be worried that I wouldn't be able to pull off wrap tops because I'm short and short-waisted. But, I applied one of my favorite tricks - creating an illusion of a longer, leaner body, and I think it worked! You can see both ways below and you can also see how you can style wrap tops differently - tie the bow in the front or in the back! Both are super cute!
In order to achieve a longer, leaner look, I tried to highlight my legs and elongate my torso. The first way I achieved that look was by wearing shorts and heels and letting my legs do the talking. When you wear heels and create an illusion of a long line, visually it makes your body look longer. The second way I achieved it was by wearing monochromatic high waisted denim. I went for white denim (shocker) for a lighter color so as not to look too heavy and I paired them with heels again to further elongate my figure. Do you have any tips? I'd love to know!!
